Whitey Morgan New braunfels Concert reviews
A Disappointing Reunion
The first indication that this show might not live up to expectations came when Whitey Morgan kicked off the performance with "Infatuation," a song originally featuring Jeff Beck on lead guitar. Unfortunately, the guitar solo for this rendition was handled by one of Morgan's less capable tour musicians. Before the acoustic set even began, a chair was brought out for Morgan to sit in, setting an unusual tone for the evening. The majority of the performance seemed to be overshadowed by flashy Vegas-inspired elements, such as a lineup of 5 seductive female backup singers, 2 drummers, and tacky green-screened visuals. Sir Whitey's lack of full commitment to the songs didn't help elevate the energy either. As Jeff Beck finally took the stage, things started to improve slightly, although their collaboration was minimal. The set only featured 4 songs performed together, leaving much to be desired from what could have been a more memorable experience.
